Humans automatically, as a survival technique I suppose, try to dismiss anything out of the ordinary. But when dealing with the dark, this rule doesn't much matter. An Ostrich can stick it's head in the sand, but it doesn't mean it's not there, and ready to bite it's victim in it's butt.
Let's take Ronni Chasen as an example, She had been in contact with someone who by happen stance had something to do with the Pact Makers, that last night. Then she is dead.
Cause and effect says that if a Pact Maker is at the term of a contract a series of unfortunate events will swirl around them. Most time the Pact Maker, blames everyone else for their misfortune. These mal-events can happen to anyone of weak spirit and lets the Pact Maker gain a bit more time.
Various bodies have dropped by strange means---Ronni was just one---Killed by a crazy black man on a bicycle at midnight---Who then killed himself.
