Breaking News--Wacky Walpurgisnact.

For people who do not believe.....We have breaking news out of the heart of Hollywood. A raging fire is engulfing the Basque restaurant at 1707 Vine St. Being the curious bugger that I am I decided to look for the closest Star on The Walk of Fame. That was James Stewart at 1708 Vine St. That was the same Jimmy Stewart that in the last years of his life shared Julie Andrews' infamous PO Box 666. The reason he was sharing was that, his personal secretary was her personal secretary, Claire Priest. She had worked for him for years and I guess found it convenient to take his little bit of mail at her new bosses mail box. She died some years ago on the Autumn Equinox of a cerebral hemorrhage.

HOLLYWOOD (KABC) -- L.A. firefighters are battling a fire in the upper floor of building at the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street in Hollywood.
L.A. City Fire responded to the greater alarm fire at the one-story commercial building around 5:30 a.m. Basque Nightclub and Restaurant, as well as other small businesses inside the building, are on fire.
The building was unoccupied when the fire broke out.
It is unclear if the fire started in Basque Nightclub or if the fire spread to Basque. The building appears to be a total loss.

Now for Parte Deaux of this tale. it seems at the very same time as this fire rages. A church in Philadelphia is lighting up the sky. the Prince of Peace Church in Philadelphia Pa...That's a big sucker of a church. At this very moment the spire is alite pointing an accusing finger at God.

PHILADELPHIA - Fire is engulfing a Philadelphia church.
Smoke is visible for miles from the five-alarm fire at the Prince of Peace Baptist Church in North Philadelphia.
Flames have engulfed the entire structure.
No injuries have been reported.
The fire also has tied up rush hour traffic on nearby Interstate 76.

For those who do not know.....Walpurgisnacht is a Fire Festival for witches.

Cause & Effect On The Dark Side of The Moon

I'm starting a single topic which I will edit as things happen.

I'm calling it Cause & Effect...It's covering those funny little things in life that seem unconnected to most, but in reality is very much connected.

1. Cause--Samara Kills Samarkand
Tuesday 4/8/08

I had a breeding pair of Cockatiels. Or at least having eggs. She's sitting her second clutch right now. It seems she and her mate got into some sort of fight and he had a heart attack or something. This is unheard of behavior out of a female cockatiel. They seemed to get along okay. But there were times when they were allowed out time from their cage, that he would miss behave or just want to go back, that when I would go get her, that she didn't want to go in yet. It was always his fault she had to go back and I think she knew it. Also with the eggs he would chase her off cause HE wanted to sit on them. I don't think this went down too good with her either. I think it was a build up of little things that set her psycho.

2. Effect--Stanely Kamel drops dead of a heart attack.
Tuesday 4/8/08

Stanley Kamel, who played Adrian Monk’s long-suffering psychiatrist on the television detective show “Monk,” was found dead by his agents on Tuesday at his home in Hollywood Hills. He was 65. The cause was a heart attack, his publicist Cynthia Snyder said in a statement.

3. Cause--Julie Andrews dedicates king Arthur's Carousel at Disneyland.
Tuesday 4/8/08

Disney, actress Julie Andrews touches her newly dedicated carousel horse named 'Jingles' following a ceremony to honor her at the King Arthur Carousel at Disneyland in Anaheim, Calif., on Tuesday, April 8, 2008. Disneyland dedicated the cherished lead carousel horse in recognition of her role as Honorary Ambassador during the park's 50th anniversary celebration in 2005.

4. Effect--Marvin Sylvor creator of carousel ponies dies
Wednesday 4/9/08

Marvin Sylvor, the merry-go-round man who dotted parks in New York City with fanciful painted ponies and went on to help populate the rest of the world with galloping steeds, flying manes and sparkly gold trappings on more than 60 carousels, died on Wednesday in Miami. He was 75.
The cause was kidney failure, said his brother,

A Week From My Fall

Well, I'm still nursing the injuries from my fall last Saturday. What is fascinating the large road burn on my left arm seemed to be reminiscent of the shape of a dragon.

Edit Friday April 11th--
Now that the scab is gone the true form of the scar shows. It's now seems that it looks very much like a Vulture. According to research it is a very powerful totum that now permanently marks my arm

Sinai Dies

And Moses went up onto Mount Sinai and received God's commandments.........And then the guy who played him croaked this evening.

RIP Charlton Heston

See some funkey numbers?...I do.

Living To 150

Barbara Walters is doing a special at this very moment on the theory that humans could live to be 150. My take on this is that if it could come true it would only be for the wealthy. The piggish vermin that has inhabited this planet to millenniums. The ones who keep most of the world in poverty and stupidity to feather their nests. I worked for one such person when my home burned last year.....She fired me immediately and karma, if you want to call it that, killed her on the reverse of my birthday this year.....So Saaad!...My Baaad!

This person thought she could do as she pleased cause she had money. She took and cheated people, though you would never know by her obit, that she anything but a saint. In the end she rots as much as any poor person in the grave.

We do not need this kind of soul to keep on forever.

I think it is humanity's innate evil that makes it fear the other side. Over there they cannot pretend to be anything but what they are. With the physical shell on, they can use it to hide their rotted souls. So they seek to live on and on, just to evade the real truth of themselves.

Entertainment Tonight

Well I was awake, I've slept most of the last 4 days away.....And I caught the ET interview..A bit better, but she still glosses over the worse parts in the book.

Something else which everyone is dwelling on..That she & her family were poor. Well yes ..and no. Let me tell you something about back then. A person or family could be poor and still own a car & home. In this time frame and equal situation would put you in the street or working constantly to have alot of nothing. So Miss Julie never knew poverty for real. I would sincerely doubt she ever missed a meal.

Something else that bugs me...Life was hard for her, that was true...BUT regardless she had family such as it was, she always had some sort of back up. Unlike in Thoroughly Modern Millie and the famous line "It's terrible to be all alone in the world." She never was and still isn't. She never truly had to stand on her own...knowing that no one will be there in times of need. But frankly I do not think she could....Very few people can.

Ooops SHE Did It Again!

Since I was stuck at home, I watched Julie on GMA & Regis...And in the USUAL Julie Andrews style she skirted the controversial parts of the book entirely. She may have opened up in the written word but she clammed up when she was LIVE today. She just glossed over the drunken parents and never brought up her illegitimacy..........You know what I think, I think she would have been too afraid to show some REAL negative emotions in front of everyone . Talk about repressed. She has every right to vent. Or is it that the American audience is so weak, that they can't assimilate the possibility that Mary Poppins ain't perfect and had a hard time growing up.

I can well expect if she publishes the second half of her autobiography that she will gloss over what broke her and Tony Walton up...That would be expected since she wouldn't say anything to upset Emma. But don't look for it to come out before Blake Edwards dies, unless there is pure pap in part two, she wouldn't say what she wants to if he's still alive.

I noticed, like it wasn't big enough, that there was a poster of Julie as a kid riding a bike with a skinned knee on the GMA interview...That was the same knee I banged up Saturday, only I got a nice sized piece of flesh knocked out of my knee.

Ooops I Did It Again!

Saturday I had my most serious bike accident ever. I was coming down a steep hill with a touring bike that was outfitted with narrow tires. It gained too much speed too fast to stop and as the wheel wobbled I had to decided to dump it before it got any faster. Any other times I had a bike accident I was going 3 mph instead of the 25+ mpg I was going that afternoon. I got pretty banged up and as of now I'm still at home mending.

Since I'm missing alot of work, I just won't be able to Buy Julie's book til sometime in the future. I also saw Sweeney Todd is out today also, but it won't be bought either....What a strange pairing 'Home' & 'The Butcher of Fleet Street' debuting the same day.
